Ishaq Dar meets Bangladesh’s Commerce Advisor Bashiruddin during Dhaka visit

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is currently on an official visit to Bangladesh, where he held a key trade-oriented meeting in Dhaka.

The meeting brought together Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce, Bangladesh’s Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin, senior officials, and heads of leading Bangladeshi trade and economic institutions.

Notable participants included the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, the Chairman of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Acting Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau.

Also present were the Secretaries of Commerce and Aviation, along with the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed bilateral trade, investment, and broader economic cooperation, underscoring the importance of strengthening collaboration across various sectors.

Sources added that Ishaq Dar is also expected to meet Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, later today.

Additionally, he will hold a meeting with Touhid Hussain, advisor at Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
