Amir Muqam distributes compensation cheques to flood victims’ families in Ghizer

Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam visited the district headquarters in Gahkuch, Ghizer, where he met with the families of 12 people who lost their lives in the recent floods and expressed condolences.
On behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government, the minister handed over compensation cheques worth Rs. 2 million each to the bereaved families.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said the government stands firmly with the affected families and will extend all possible assistance.
He added that the federal government will fully cooperate with the Gilgit-Baltistan government in addressing the damages caused by the floods, with the rehabilitation of affected areas being a top priority.
Federal Secretary for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Zafar Hassan, along with other senior officials, were present. Former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafizur Rehman, DG GB DMA Zakir Hussain, Home Secretary Ali Asghar, Commissioner Gilgit Division Asad Haroon, DC Ghizer, and ADC Gupis Yasin also attended the event.
It is worth mentioning that Engineer Amir Muqam is currently on a three-day visit to Gilgit-Baltistan on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
