Three militants, including commander, gunned down in DI Khan operation

Security forces eliminated at least three militants, including a key commander, in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Luni area of Tehsil Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan. According to security sources, the operation was conducted on the basis of credible intelligence regarding militant activity in the area.
During the intense exchange of fire, the commander and two of his associates were killed.
A significant cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
The slain militants were reportedly involved in several attacks on security forces and were wanted in multiple cases.
Officials stated that the successful operation once again reflects the forces’ unwavering resolve to eradicate terrorism and ensure peace in the region.
They reaffirmed that militancy will be crushed with the support of the people.
It is noteworthy that just a day earlier, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district, one policeman embraced martyrdom while three terrorists were killed during an operation in the mountainous area of Darmalak.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat said ASI Ashfaq embraced martyrdom while two other policemen sustained injuries.
In retaliation, three terrorists were neutralised, while others fled with injuries.
An operation is underway to track down and arrest the injured militants, the RPO added, vowing that police would not let the sacrifices of martyrs go in vain.
The funeral prayers of ASI Ashfaq were offered at Kohat Police Lines with full official honours.
The ceremony was attended by RPO Abbas Majeed, Commissioner Kohat Division Mutasim Ballah Shah, DPO Dr Zahidullah, senior district officers, political representatives, and police personnel.
A smartly dressed police contingent also presented a salute before the martyr’s body was sent to his native village.
